With Valentines day 2011 behind us I thought, what a great opportunity to profess my love of all things furniture.
Designers, Manufacturers, Craftsmen and Collectors have converged on this incredible moment in time where antiques blend perfectly with hand crafted reclaimed pieces and custom upholstery of all colors, shapes and finishes.
Lets start with the reclaimed wood pieces being produced by craftsmen from around the globe. Never before has the desire to transform previously discarded wood into gorgeous home fashion been so popular and so varied. With everything from rustic cathedral door coffee tables to french country inspired sideboards and sleek minimalist vitrines all in natural hues of fine aged wood. So many options in so many styles the opportunity to transform a a blank dining room into an art exhibit is now well within the reach of all budgets.
Custom and Designer upholstery has never been more accessible and at price points normally reserved for the trade and wholesalers. Elegant fabrics, wide variety of frames and limitless finishing options make me question why anyone would ever buy a mass produced sofa, sectional, chaise or ottoman again? We have spent the past couple years wowing our clients by executing on their inspired vision of the perfect piece in the perfect space and in the perfect color. None more dramatic than the towering tufted headboard envisioned by one of our clients below. Kudos for dreaming big and thank you for lettings us have the opportunity bring that dream to life.
Lastly I would be remiss if I did not mention the monumental efforts of designers doing what they do best! Bringing inspiration and innovation to home design. None more so than Esquire Home.
If someone had told me that there would a men's home furnishing line that featured Burberry inspired tartans, rich wool fabrics and sleek modern lines finished with deep tufts, I would have laughed in their face and I would have been wrong!
My love affair with furniture.
